Ching-Yu Lin, founder and creative director of CosmoC Lighting, is a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), and an executive director of the Taiwan Lighting Association. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York with a Master degree in Architectural Lighting Design, he worked for many years at the renowned New York-based architectural lighting firm OVI (Office for Visual Interaction). Upon returning to Taiwan, Lin served as a lecturer in lighting design courses at several institutions, including the Department of Architecture at Tunghai University, the New Media Department at Taipei National University of the Arts, the Continuing Education Division at Chinese Culture University, and the lighting design courses at Hsueh-Hsueh Cultural & Creative. He is currently an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Architecture at Shih Chien University in Taipei.

Over the years, Lin has balanced his teaching career with his involvement in numerous public lighting design projects. He believes that "design" exerts both tangible and intangible influence, much like how light not only transmits visual information but also activates other sensory perceptions. Through the synergy of conceptual promotion and practical implementation, Lin uses appropriate lighting to create shadows rich in humanistic depth. He views lighting not merely as a means to "illuminate" but as a tool to "define" the cities we see, thereby enhancing human-centered lighting environments.
